Teaching classes....

I've been very fortunate to be able to teach a few classes on various things polymer.  The most recent class was making these bracelets.  I have so much fun teaching, but I still have a few bugs to work out of my classes.  I don't think I've had a class yet where everyone has completed their piece.  I'm lucky if anyone finishes.  Oh well, I suppose structuring the class properly will happen with more experience.

I really like the way these bracelets look--I'm going to have to make more....

Spotted Saxifrage Ring

My latest flower ring...

I can't believe how much I like making these flower rings.  I've done a lot of research, and while I'm not trying for an exact replica, I do like to get the details somewhat close to correct....

The Spotted Saxifrage is actually quite small, perhaps 3/4" across and found in rocky ledges and ridges in the mountains of the western United States.

Ping's spaceship?

...unfortunately not.  This is a ring I made not too long after making the log cabin ring.  It was more or less a trial piece.  I'm going to try making another one in more space-shippy colors....

I like a lot of the details I put in--the exhaust pipes, the running lights, and the closure.  I'm especially proud of the hatch--it was a lot easier than I thought it would be and I like the way it looks.

Trees!

So, remember the post before my absence?  I turned those canes into tree ornaments!  I call this particular set my "tertiary trees" because I used all six tertiary colors in making them (yellow orange, red orange, red violet, blue violet, blue green, and yellow green). I love, love, LOVE the way they turned out.  This one is my favorite:

Each one has a little bell in the bottom:

I had some leftover cane and made some wreaths:

I've got more ornaments on the way....

My apologies...

...for my absence.  I've been dealing with a medical issue that has taken a great deal of my time and attention.  I don't want to be one of those people who go on and on about their problems, so I'll just say I'm dealing with seriously high blood pressure and it is taking a while to get it under control.  I'm getting used to it, so I finally feel with it enough to get back to the craft table and also to this blog.

Thanks so much for your patience!
